What is crisis coaching, and how is it different from therapy?
Crisis coaching is about helping you get unstuck when life throws something heavy your way. It’s not therapy, and I don’t diagnose or treat mental illness. Instead, I meet you where you are—in the moment, in the mess—and help you find some clarity and movement. It’s real-time, real-world support when you need someone to sit in it with you and help you figure out the next step.
Who do you actually work with—individuals, couples, families?
All of the above. I work with adults, minors with guardian consent, couples (romantic or not), family members, friends—basically, if you’re navigating something hard and it matters to you, we can talk about it.
What happens in a session?
That depends on what you need. Some people need to vent. Some need direction. Some need help sorting through the chaos to find one clear thought. Sessions are flexible, conversation-driven, and always focused on what will actually help—not just what sounds good on paper.
Where do sessions take place?
I’m based out of Lee’s Summit and serve surrounding areas. I travel to you, whenever possible, because I believe people open up more in familiar spaces. We can meet at your home, a quiet public place, or wherever feels comfortable and safe.
Do I need to have a diagnosis or a referral?
Nope. You don’t need a label or a note from anyone. If something’s weighing on you and you need someone to talk to, that’s enough.
How much does this cost, and how does payment work?
My goal is to keep support accessible. Rates are intentionally affordable, and I’m upfront about pricing from the start. I don’t deal with insurance, but I do offer sliding scale options when needed. We’ll talk through it together before anything gets scheduled.
Do you offer sessions outside of regular hours?
Yes. I mostly work evenings and weekends because that’s when life tends to hit the hardest—and when most people are actually available. I try to be as flexible as I can with scheduling.
Can you come to me, or do I have to come to you?
I come to you whenever possible. That’s part of what makes this different. Healing doesn’t have to happen in an office with a ticking clock. It can happen in your space, on your terms.
Is this confidential?
Absolutely. What you share stays between us, with the same respect and care you’d expect in any professional setting. The only exception is if there’s a legal or safety issue that requires action, and I’m upfront about that too.
What if I don’t even know where to start or what I need?
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to have the right words or a perfect explanation. If something feels off or overwhelming, that’s reason enough to reach out. We’ll figure it out together, one step at a time.
